Bres was a king of the Tuatha De Danann in Irish mythology. He was born to Fomorian kin and as a result favored them in his rulings. When Nuadha lost his hand and was considered unfit to rule, Bres was raised up in his place, with Brigid of the Tuatha De Danann becoming his wife.
His rule was harsh, making the Tuatha De Danann work as slaves and pay tribute to the Fomorians. He was overthrown and exiled when Nuadha successfully replaced his hand.
Bres would try to reclaim the throne with the help of Balor, but failed.
