Brynhildr as she appears in Majin Tensei II
Brynhildr (ヴリュンヒルド, vuryunhirudo) is a demon in the series.
History
Also spelled Brunhild, Brünnhilde, and Brynhild she is a Valkyrie and a shieldmaiden of Norse lore. In the Volsunga Saga she was ordered to fight for one of two kings, choosing the younger king Agnar instead of Odin's preferred king. She was condemned to live life as a mortal woman. He then imprisoned her in a castle behind a wall of shields in the Alps, where she shall sleep surrounded by a ring of fire until a man saves and weds her. The man who saved her was Siegfried and they would then wed. The two would eventually be tricked, which lead to Brynhildr manipulating Siegfried's death. It would end in her willing herself in order to die in the funeral pyre he was in. The two would never be apart again as they go to Hel.
