Brân the Blessed, also known as Bendigeidfran or Brân Fendigaidd ("blessed crow"), is a giant and king of Britain in Welsh mythology. He allows the Irish king Matholwch to marry his sister Brânwen, and attempts to appease him with a magic cauldron after Brân's half-brother Efnysien mutilates Matholwch's horses. Bran would later oppose Matholwch after his sister sends for help after being mistreated as a result of Efnysien's insults to the Irish.
