Papa Legba is a being from Haitian Voodoo. He is the intermediary between the loa and humanity. He stands at a spiritual crossroads and gives or denies one permission to speak with the spirits of Guinee. He is believed to speak all human languages. He is the first and last spirit invoke in a ceremony since his aid is required to open/close the doorway between Loa and humanity. Ellegua is often associated with Legba, and is a trickster child.
