  • How is he not the antagonist? He is the head of the Conspiracy, he's the one who imprisoned\expelled Joker (as well as caused pretty much every problem faced by most of the protagonists) and is the closest thing the game has to a main villain for 99% of it. If he isn't the main antagonist, who is? Yaldabaoth, who was introduced at the last minute and has little to no connection with the plot?

    • Jesus christ because the messages are getting longer and longer...

My point isn't about his compelling factor of the mystery or whatever... I'm pointing out that he is also non-existent until we are revealed that a character called Shido exists. And no, we didn't knew he was a villain, like I said, he was only a nameless and faceless NPC that got Joker into probation, yes he was an enemy to Joker but doesn't change the fact that he's no one until he's revealed as someone named Shido.

I'm repeating myself because that's how it works in the context of this game. No, a main antagonist isn't someone on the top rank, but yes a main antagonist is someone who has done more actions even off screen because they are the cause of what is happening and in this case what Shido is doing.

In that example you give of Twilight Princess, a game I haven't played, from what it looks like it isn't the same case here in P5. From what you're describing Ganon only gave that dude powers but Zant was the one that caused evil in the land of Hyrule (assuming Twilight Princess happens in Hyrule), it was his actions and doings, Ganon had nothing to do with it except giving him power. In P5 this isn't the same, Yaldabaoth caused Akechi to be controlled by Shido, Shido became his pawn and created the Conspiracy, Yaldabaoth caused Joker to be a victim of Shido, Yaldabaoth locked Igor in another place, Yaldabaoth divided Lavenza... all of this was caused by Yaldabaoth. Later on Shido learned about the Metaverse because of Akechi (If I remember correctly) and started killing people that opposed him and thus by gaining allies for the Conspiracy to continue and be prime minister... this was caused by both. It's not like Yaldabaoth gave Shido a push and Shido did his own thing, Yaldabaoth made a lot of things to make everything work in his favor so your example of Zelda doesn't work in this context.

Yes, you're right, it takes more than just showing up and saying you're the villain... and that's what happens, we are shown what Yaldabaoth did, we saw what he gained and how he won (albeit for a short while). Shido's role became massive and impactful when we learn of who Shido is in the first place, when we learn who he is we start to put the pieces together of everything he did before the reveal of a character named Shido... otherwise he wasn't anyone, your argument of Yaldabaoth can also be used for Shido. No, Yaldabaoth isn't just a plot twist to end the game on... he was the driving force that made everyone and everything corrupt, he caused the evils that befell Akechi and Joker and everyone else. And he appeared in more than ONE scene... he appeared as Igor just as Shido appeared as Nameless and Faceless NPC.

Oh, right. Sorry about that. :)

And you're absolutely right; as nice as this literarary debate is, it's getting a bit bloated. Tell you what--I have to go for the day, but why don't you make a brief list of the most vital points in your argument, and when I come back, I'll try and address them as briefly as possible?

  • Again, you were saying that the game doesn’t take place in 2022

The game doesn’t take place in 2016 either, so why add the dob years if they’re not even Cannon

    • Yes I understand, although... next time, I would actually see try putting the birth years in the Trivia instead of the inbox, because the Month Date and
      Year

Just doesn’t make sense to me, and i’ve Never played persona 1 and 2, so I can’t specifi which year it actually takes place

Most people tend to believe it’s 1996 and 1999 just like people believe that 2016 is the Cannon year for Persona 6

      Like I said, i don’t know

And before you guys ask, i’m Not a troll (if I was I would be stating something else like nonsense than just my opinion)

And if you guys think it’s 2016, I respect your opinion, but I personally don’t think that way, and I don’t exactly know how police officers work, so I don’t know if Chie became a cop or not, that I don’t know

    • It won't be put on the trivia section because the years match.

P1 and P2 do take place in the years I mentioned because of hints given in the games and events matching real life events (like the Grand Cross of 1999 and Eikichi saying "we're close to the 21st century", in Eternal Punishment it is the year 2000 due to specifying events and seasons).

It's not believing, Atlus intentionally put hints to make us realize what year it is, so 2016 is more canon than 2022. I already told you the hints the game gives, and no, I just told you Chie didn't become a cop as the game P5 already states.

It's not about opinion, we base ourselves on facts more than anything, if we based ourselves on opinions this wiki would be a mess. Also, I'm willing to continue this discussion in either my profile or yours just to stop using Great Mara's.

  • i’ve heard the art for this (this is a collaboration art made by the same guy who drew the Vocaloid Characters) anyways? Is this considered Cannon? Just to make sure, so I can not or put it on Makoto’s wiki page?

    • If it's a collaboration art then yes, it is official art and thus should go to Makoto's, Joker's and Hifumi's articles under the "Tribute Artworks" section of their galleries... but if it's an artwork the artist decided to make only for his own volition then I believe it's considered a fan art and thus not official.

  • i just wanted to know if Yusuke’s height was ever revealed or something like that, now, Yusuke’s height is a 181cm in Centimeters if I would see, I would see keep it as 5’11” or maybe 6’0” but I was just asking? Is he 6’0”?

      Loading editor
    • If you calculate the centimeters from the inches it would give you 5'11... he doesn't reach 6'0... besides, official sources (Japanese ones that is) won't reveal height and weight in the system the US uses (I forgot the name of the system), they use kilograms and centimeters.

        Loading editor
    • Yes, so he is actually 5’11” I knew that, I actually thought he was 6’0” for a second because it was stated in the trivia he was tallest of the Characters of the Phantom Thieves

  • Hello Great Mara, I'm so sorry that I have to bother you so many times now ;w;. I have many questions and perhaps suggestions to improve this Wiki's flexibility!

    Question:

    • Does this Wiki has a notice template at the top such as Stub template/Spoiler template? If so, I'd like to copy the code and create a "Incomplete Project" template because I haven't gathered Confidant points if the player doesn't bring a matching Persona with them.
    • Also, do you guys need more Staff? I was wondering that I want to apply as a Content Moderator to gain more tools to edit the Confidant Project, but I do not think you need one more staff at the moment.

    Suggestions:

    • Does the Staff use Discord server to contact each other on a daily basis? If they don't, I think it's a good idea to make one so you guys can contact each other easier without jumping into your Message Wall to the others every time you need to discuss something.
    • Maybe you guys should create a Forum dedicated to report Vandalism just in case none of the staff is around when someone vandalizing pages.

That's all. I'm waiting for your respond. Thank you o/

    • It looks fine, although eventually we'll need to figure out the Confidant characters' holiday/special event scenarios as well.

As for adminship roles, I'm not sure what content moderator even entails. IIRC, the only one who can even grant special rights is Bluerfn, as they're the only bureaucrat here.

    • Thank you. I will think about special events later. Confidants and Social Links will be prioritized for now because it is a core mechanic of Persona games.

Content Moderator has the ability to rollback revisions, protecting and unprotecting pages, renaming filenames, and editing protected pages. I've seen a lot of files in this Wiki with bad file names, and I want to have the ability to fix it along the process of creating Confidant pages.

  • Hello admin! I want to propose you a project that I've just started; writing a complete set of Social Link dialogue starting from Persona 5's Confidant. I haven't set on how I want to design the dialogue's table, but I've already have some ideas on my mind! It's impossible for me to gather all dialogues, but I'm determined to fully complete it someday.

I want to have you and the other staff's agreement to trust me to at least make a single page first. I have started to work on it on my Sandbox. You can check my contributions in Danganronpa Wiki, I'm a trusted script editor there with more than 49,000 edit counts.

I hope you will consider my proposal, thank you and have a nice day!

    • Alright. Also, I think the Availability box that I created can't be collapsed. Do you know why it's like that? I've been trying to fix it but it didn't budge at all :/. I also left the Without Matching Persona as ? as for now because there is no guide out there presenting the W/0 points for Confidants. I'll conduct some research about it later on.

    • I'm done with Ryuji's confidant. I'll put the quotes and list of minor characters somewhere else. Would you mind checking it out and see what I should change before I publish it live to the Wiki?

  • Hey, when you made pages for P3 and P3 Fes enemies, how did you get their stats? Fuuka's scan doesn't show them, unless I'm missing something. Thanks!

  • Atlus has altered the password encoding for the English localization of Redux, which breaks most existing passwords carried over from vanilla SJ. Can we add a seperate cell to each SJ demon infobox for their new Redux passwords?

  • Is it okay if I mention (as a trivia point) on Mithra's page that the lion headed figure is actually referred to as Ahriman in Mithraism?

(Just as a side note: do you think that there may be a link between Ahriman and Demiurge?)
