Could you walk me through this so I don't fuck anything else up going forward? When you say "Source Editor", I meant that as clicking on edit, clicking on the source tab, then writing the edit out in raw format. Is there a different meaning to that?
I have recently gotten into SMTIV, and through various research I have found that there is more information known (and generally agreed to be factual) about the Skills in SMTIV than is present on the relevant Wikia page.
Specifically, a very studious and beneficient user on the GameFAQs forums, by the name of penguin_knight, created a (now-stickied) thread which contains large amounts of detailed information (and data fromt the research that uncovered this information) about how combat works in SMTIV, both above and under the hood. Among this information are the base powers of the various available skills.
I would like to add specifically the base power ratings to the Wikia page list, but I felt that since that is a relatively large edit, I should ask permission first.
(Do we not need to sign things the way we used to? I don't see a sign button and I'm confused)
But, I only asked because I noticed that several skill-list pages for OTHER MegaTen games (some of the older ones) listed numeral power values... I presumed that those would have been acquired in the same way.
To directly answer your question, I PERSONALLY cannot prove unequivocally that those power values are legitimate. But by the same logic, doesn't someone need to "objectively prove" that the power values on (for example) the Shin Megami Tensei (game) Skills list page are correct? Cuz I don't see a references section a-la-wikipedia style...
Oh yeah, and penguin_knight also proved that all of his power values and formulas check out with in-game testing. Theoretically the only way to "objectively verify" this would be to perform the same test without any errors and video yourself doing so, but as someone with over 60 hours in SMTIV I can confirm at the very least that the damage outputs I have seen line up with the formulas and damage values penguin_knight lists.
Well, my argument about stun needles being better than tathlum shot was incorrect, though the sentiment is quite true, especially when it comes to choosing Flynn's skills, because the whisper bonus damage (up to +8 rank) is added to each shot individually, making multi-hit very strong early in the game. However I double-checked by testing in the actual game and it turns out I was wrong about individual hits of Stun Needle having nearly as much power as a single Tathlum shot. But, uh, don't hold that against the veracity of penguin_knight's information, please--I did not get my wrong info from hir thread, but rather from a different thread where other people were discussing it. That's my own fault.
Hello, but there is no explanation about how rumors work in the persona 2 duoverse, and the only page with the name rumor pertains to the race and does not help explain the power, which was the thing where people say and spread in Sumaru becomes reality, but my edit trying to explain it was reverted. Exactly why was that reverted? Thanks!
Hi Great Mara, on 8/20 I added Japanese names for the songlist of Persona 3 Portable in a seperate column, the format of which I copied from the Persona 3 Original Soundtrack and Persona 4 Original Soundtrack, both which also having japanese song names in a seperate column next to english names.
Soon after, I noticed that you reverted my edit without any explanation. I'd like to ask why exactly was it reverted? The format of seperate columns for japanese and english names has been used in other pages on this wiki, as I linked above, and I got the track listings from a Japanese source (here if you scroll down a bit).
Hi Great Mara, I have request, since you protected/locked the page to P5 protagonist until next year. I was wondering if is possible only administers can edit his page for the time being or is locked for all users. I was planning to adding an official artwork game cover of the P5 protagonist and the others from PQ2.
Hi GreatMara, there is something I forgot to ask you about, before I create a Navigation template for PQ2, it's the main color theme for the PQ2 is orange or dark red-orange color? I know it's not the same color theme from the previous game.
Oh I see. I was planning to only adding the characters who appear in PQ2, Locations, Terminology, Songs, Lists, and Non-Playable Characters or you want me to wait until all characters has their PQ2 Character Artworks were revealed in the main website?
Right now I'd be leaning toward orange and white, based on their JP site. Maybe change based on the game when it releases. As for information, just make sure everything is verifiable. I don't really like putting up too many pages before things are localized.
Hi GreatMara, I'm uncertain whether or not to create character page for the new characters, Hikari and Nagi seperately or together like Caroline and Justine page or wait until the main official website update the character section?
