Summon Dolls (人形を召喚?) are items found in the Shin Megami Tensei series.
- Shin Megami Tensei II
- Shin Megami Tensei: if... Hazama's Chapter
- Shin Megami Tensei III: Nocturne
- Shin Megami Tensei IMAGINE
They are needed to open a gate to the Expanse or summon a powerful demon by people who do not have a COMP. There are five of them: Angry Doll (red), Crying Doll (blue), Happy Doll (yellow), Dancing Doll (black), and Sleepy Doll (green).
Shin Megami Tensei IIEdit
The Summon Dolls appears as an important plot element in the game. They are under the possession of Hanada, and are used to open a passage to the Expanse. The first time they're seen, Hanada uses them in his research to check whether demons are real or not. After being forbidden by Madam, he escapes to Valhalla's Slums and continues his experiments there. Later, Madam sends Aleph and Hiroko to hunt him; when found, Hanada attempts to use the dolls to escape to the Expanse, but the passage is one way and he instead summons Mercurius, who kills him. When Aleph defeats Mercurius, he takes the dolls.
It is later revealed that the passage that Haneda opened was only one way due to the fact that one of the dolls he used was fake. Aleph later retrieves the real 5th doll from an inhabitant of Holytown, and uses the dolls to open a proper "backdoor" into the Expanse.
Shin Megami Tensei: if... Hazama's ChapterEdit
The Emperor hides the five dolls in the school during the night of the 1st day of the game. After contacting Ideo Hazama, he sends five guardians to protect them, and fills the school with demons (Gakis, Poltergeists, Zombie Dogs and Slimes), as a test to see if Hazama is worthy enough to keep his promise. They are in the following order:
|Zombie Boy||Classroom 2-C||Dancing Doll|
|Zombie Girl||Classroom 3-D||Happy Doll|
|Zombie Teacher||Classroom 2-D||Crying Doll|
|Bodyconian||Classroom 2-A||Sleepy Doll|
|Corpse*||Entrance to the Gym||Angry Doll|
Shin Megami Tensei III: NocturneEdit
Shin Megami Tensei IMAGINEEdit
In a reference to their appearance in Nocturne, the dolls appeared during the summoning of Mara.
